Who we are
Dover Electrical is a small, local electrical firm based in Dover, Kent. We handle domestic and small-commercial work across CT15, CT16 and CT17 - the port town, the Dour valley up to Temple Ewell, and the White Cliffs villages from Aycliffe out to St Margaret's-at-Cliffe. We are owned by NordSys Limited, a Kent business run by founder Richard Lim.
What we do
Six services: consumer unit upgrades, full and partial rewires, EICR inspections, OZEV-approved EV charger installations, MCS-certified solar and battery, and LED and mains lighting. All work is to BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022 (the current wiring regulations), and all notifiable work is registered under Part P of the Building Regulations through our competent-person scheme.
How we quote
Fixed price. You send a photo of the board or the room, and a postcode, and we come back the same day with a written price and a first-available date. If the job runs longer than we quoted, that is on us - no "the job grew" invoice at the end. We do not take deposits and we do not ask for payment until you have signed off.
What we do not do
We do not do industrial electrical (heavy 3-phase distribution, motor control, industrial estates). We do not do EICR-only landlord sweeps as a subcontractor - if you need a report, we do the report and quote any remedials ourselves. We are honest about the edges of our lane.
Accreditation and standards
All work to BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022. All notifiable work registered under Part P Building Regs. MCS certification for solar installations under the OZEV grant scheme. Fully insured (public liability, professional indemnity). Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate issued on every job. Every installation carries a 10-year workmanship guarantee.
