Kearsney housing
Kearsney sits west of River, tucked between the Dour and the railway line, next to Kearsney Abbey Gardens. Housing is upscale relative to the port core - substantial Victorian and Edwardian detached villas along London Road and Alkham Road, some post-war infill, and a scattering of Listed properties around the historic Kearsney Court area.
What we see most
- Larger consumer unit upgrades - 10 to 14-way boards on the villas, garage sub-boards and outbuilding feeds common.
- Solar + battery - south-facing rear roofs, 6kW plus 10kWh common. G98 or G99 depending on inverter size.
- Listed-building sympathetic lighting - period fittings, minimum-chase installations, Listed Building Consent packaged where needed.
- Full rewires - the Victorian villa stock is due, and owner-occupier refurbishments often go full.
Local logistics
Access is good, plots are large, off-street parking is universal. UKPN service is mostly TN-S on the older stock. Listed properties concentrated around the Abbey Gardens - if yours is Grade II or above, plan any external or fabric-affecting work with a Listed Building Consent lead-in.
